
Alexandra Flood is one of Australia’s most exciting young classical singing talents. Following her professional debut as a young artist at the Salzburg Festival, Alexandra has appeared as a soloist at the Opéra de Paris, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz Munich, Krakow Opera, Dutch National Opera Opera Forward Festival, Malmö Opera, Opéra de Dijon, Victorian Opera and Opera Queensland among others, and with the Munich and Polish Radio, the Moravian, Bochum, Rossini, National, Adelaide and Queensland Symphony Orchestras, and the Vienna and St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestras. An avid new music performer, Alexandra created the role of Miranda in M. Eggert’s world premiere Caliban in Amsterdam, performed the German premiere of Jake Heggie’s Songs and Sonnets to Ophelia (“beguiling” – Süddeutsche Zeitung) and Jacques Hétu’s Clartés de la Nuit (“wonderfully intense” – Süddeutsche Zeitung) in Munich. This season Alexandra makes her debut in the Marriage of Figaro at Teatro Réal in Madrid and will represent Australia at the Concours musical international de Montréal. In Australia, Alexandra appears at the Bangalow Music Festival, the Melbourne Recital Centre with Alex Raineri, Ukaria with Konstantin Shamray and stars in La voix humaine with Opera Queensland and the Brisbane Festival.
