Jemima Drews constantly searches for new ways to captivate her audiences. Her performances have been described as both theatrical and genuine. In 2020, Jemima was nominated for the Freedman Fellowship, and in 2019, was awarded the James Carson Memorial Prize, the ADFAS Bangalow Young Artist Award, and was a finalist for the O’Brien Family Prize. She performed with the Southern Cross Soloists at the Bangalow Music Festival as a next Gen Artist in 2019. Jemima has performed alongside musicians from the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, performed as a concerto soloist with the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra, and premiered several works from Brisbane composers. Jemima is the current principal flute of the Queensland Youth Symphony Orchestra, and continues to develop her performance skills with tutelage from Patrick Nolan through the University of Queensland.
