I am an Operations Manager for the Brisbane Music Festival 2023. I am very happy to be a part of BMF, because I have followed the festival for many years.
I am currently a second-year student at the University of Queensland studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Philosophy. Music is a major part of my life. I have a passion for composing music, in particular, my interest in composition stems from atonal music. Even though atonal music can be an acquired taste, I am able to lose myself in the music – atonal music allows me to feel the message of the composer in ways that no other style of music can, which is why I love it.
In addition to composing, I also play the piano. Much like composition, I study the piano for enjoyment, performing powerful pieces. I am currently studying a Beethoven sonata, which has proven to be a significant challenge, but incredibly enjoyable nonetheless.
As well as being invested in music, I am an avid fundraiser. I am currently working as a volunteer for the Children’s Hospital Foundation, assisting with various fundraising projects including the Ian Frazer Centre for Children’s Immunotherapy Research. In 2021, I was the youngest finalist for the QCF Emerging Philanthropist of the Year Award for my work in raising funds for the Brainchild Foundation as well as the Children’s Hospital Foundation. This year I am the ambassador for the Children’s Hospital Foundation Bridge to Brisbane campaign, and will be running the 10km event.
