
Critically acclaimed by The Age (Melbourne) as ‘a player of insight, proficiency and personality’’, Austrian born and raised Monika is a sought-after chamber musician, soloist and orchestra musician currently based in Brisbane/Australia.
She appears regularly as principal flute with Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra and is Artistic Director of Brisbane based chamber music collective Ensemble Trivium. She is a guest artist with Ensemble Q and has also performed with Southern Cross Soloists and QSO Chamber Players. Monika was born in Salzburg and holds a MA degree from the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna having studied with Prof. Wolfgang Schulz (former principal flute, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra) including further studies with Aurèle Nicolet, Peter-Lukas Graf and Emily Beynon.
In Vienna she has performed with the Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Chamber Orchestra amongst others, and in Australia with the Melbourne, Tasmanian and Queensland Symphony Orchestras, Orchestra Victoria and the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has toured all over Europe, Taiwan and nationally in Australia and has performed at many festivals such as Wien modern, Carinthischer Sommer, Allegro Vivo, Brisbane Baroque and Brisbane Festival.
