Oliver Scott graduated in music performance, studying cello under the guidance of Li Wei Qin at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Of Music. He has an extensive range of experiences performing in professional orchestras, having freelanced on a regular basis with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony and the Sydney Sinfonia.

Oliver has performed throughout Europe and the United States. He took part in the Queensland Youth Symphony Europe/Asia tour as soloist, performing Saint-Säens Cello Concerto in concert halls throughout Germany and France. In June 2014, he took part in the Texas Music Festival, also finishing 2nd place in the Concerto Competition at the festival. In 2015 and 2016, Oliver was invited to perform as part of The International Holland Music Sessions. Giving recitals in various locations in Holland, as well as appearing in performance and interview on NPO Radio 4, a prominent classical music channel in the Netherlands.

Perhaps the highlight of his musical career so far was a concert tour of Ukraine, where he premiered the Bezborodko Double Concerto with the Rivne Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as giving Piano Trio and Solo Recitals around the country.

Oliver is currently studying a master’s in orchestral conducting at the University Queensland School Of Music. He has already conducted a number of ensembles including the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, University Queensland School Of Music, and the Queensland Youth Symphony.
