Message From the Artistic Director

Dearest friends,

After a truly heartwarming response to the 2019 Brisbane Music Festival, it was with heaviness that the BMF team made the decision to postpone all scheduled live performance events to later dates. In the interim, it is my extreme pleasure to announce this 3rd Brisbane Music Festival, an entirely digital festival.

Ten streamed concerts featuring a scintillating expanse of wonderful music will be presented with an event each fortnight, streamed to your homes and devices. Nothing can replace the magic of live performance, but music as a powerful vehicle for storytelling can still very much be celebrated in these disrupted times. These events will be imbued with an aura of intimacy, delivered according to social distancing protocols from my own music studio.

This the BMF’s response to the current global situation and it provides our cherished patrons with a unique opportunity to engage with a live concert experience from the comfort of ones own home.

I hope you can join us (kind of) for this ‘adapted’ festival experience. Make yourself a cup of tea or pour yourself a glass of wine, and enjoy some of Brisbane’s finest musicians!

Alex Raineri (Artistic Director)
